Athlete Excellence | USOPC 2025 Impact Report
The USOPC strengthened athlete support at every level of the athlete journey in 2025, from well-being to performance.
In 2025, the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee harnessed the extraordinary energy already surrounding Team USA and turned it into something powerful: momentum. Momentum fueled by athletes delivering pivotal performances and redefining what is possible. Momentum strengthened by coaches, support staff and providers helping athletes train, recover and perform at their best. And momentum propelled by a growing community of fans, partners and donors who stand behind Team USA every step of the way.
That momentum became something even more meaningful: impact.
As Team USA athletes prepared for Milano-Cortina 2026, and as we moved closer to welcoming the world for Los Angeles 2028 and Utah 2034, the USOPC remained focused on doing what it does best: empowering athletes every day. Across the Olympic and Paralympic Movement, investments in athletes, sport and communities strengthened the foundation that supports Team USA, expanded opportunities and advanced the future of the Movement.
This was not only a year of preparation for future Games. It was a year of strengthening the systems, partnerships and capabilities that enable athletes and sport to thrive in an increasingly dynamic and competitive landscape.
A defining milestone in 2025 was the announcement of the Stevens Financial Security Awards. Through a historic $100 million gift from Ross Stevens, Team USA athletes, beginning with Milano-Cortina 2026, will receive long-term financial benefits for each Olympic and Paralympic Games in which they compete. This transformational investment reflects a simple but powerful belief: athletes should not have to choose between pursuing their Olympic and Paralympic dreams and building long-term financial security.
That same athlete-centered commitment guided investments across the high-performance system. Expanded rehabilitation and psychological services, breakthrough research in sleep and recovery, advancements in Paralympic athlete care and continued innovation in performance technology created more connected, data-informed support for athletes and National Governing Bodies (NGBs). Together, these efforts helped athletes train, recover and perform at their highest level while ensuring they are supported as people, not just competitors.
The impact extended beyond individual athletes to strengthen the broader sport ecosystem. The integration of USA Cycling and U.S. Paralympics Cycling under a unified NGB created new opportunities for collaboration and shared expertise. The USOPC also became the first National Olympic and Paralympic Committee to incorporate Paralympic competition data into international performance analysis, advancing a more inclusive and comprehensive approach to supporting athlete success. At the same time, efforts to protect the collegiate sport system and expand awareness of adaptive sport helped strengthen pathways for future Team USA athletes.
Momentum also extended far beyond competition. Through record-breaking philanthropic support, deeper fan engagement and growing leadership across the international sport community, Team USA continued to connect with and inspire people nationwide. The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Foundation raised more than $250 million and welcomed more than 11,000 first-time donors to the Team USA community. Campaigns such as One for All and Making Team USA introduced new audiences to the athletes behind the performances, creating deeper connections to Team USA and the values that unite us.
The achievements of 2025 were the result of a collective effort. Athletes, NGBs, coaches, families, partners, donors, volunteers and staff all played a role in shaping a stronger and more connected future for the Olympic and Paralympic Movement.
The past year reinforced an important truth: success is built long before the world is watching. It is shaped through intentional daily actions, sustained investment and an unwavering belief in what sport can inspire and achieve.
The impact of this work will extend far beyond a single year. Every investment in athletes, every advancement in sport and every connection built with communities helps create a stronger future for Team USA. Together, we are building the capabilities, partnerships and support systems needed to meet the demands of a changing sport landscape while ensuring future generations of athletes have the opportunity to pursue excellence on the world stage.
Momentum may have defined 2025. The impact it created will shape the future. Because impact is not measured only by what happens at the Games. It is measured by the opportunities created, the lives changed and the stronger Movement we leave behind. And we're just getting started.
