Learning With Team USA
Learning with Team USA is a series of conversations addressing the most pressing issues in sport.
The United States Olympic & Paralympic Foundation (USOPF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Team USA athletes on and off the field of play. As the fundraising arm of the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), the USOPF generates philanthropic support to empower Team USA athletes to achieve sustained competitive excellence and well-being.
100% of gifts to the USOPF go directly to athletes and the high-performance programming that supports them.
To engage the next generation of philanthropic leaders, the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Foundation (USOPF) has launched Team USA NextGen program, a community of young professionals with a passion for sport and the Olympic and Paralympic movements.
Representing diverse backgrounds, professions, locations and experience, NextGen leaders raise awareness of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee’s mission and advocate for Team USA within their communities.
The program was developed to engage a younger demographic, emphasize the importance of diversity, and reflect the composition of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams. NextGen began accepting applications in April of this year, and six months later, 23 influential young leaders from around the country comprise the budding NextGen community.
Team USA Community Champions in partnership with Comcast (formerly named the Team USA Service & Hope Award) recognizes Olympic and Paralympic athletes on a yearly basis for their commitment to serving and bettering their communities through nonprofit work. The award honors athletes who embody the Olympic values of Excellence, Respect and Friendship and the Paralympic values of Determination, Inspiration, Equality and Courage, as well as charitable organizations whose missions focus on youth sport, physical activity, or health and well-being.
Through this award program, the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Foundation and Comcast are proud to celebrate athletes not only as members of Team USA, but as citizens who have the unique ability to inspire positive change through meaningful service and engagement.
