Athlete Listening

Athlete Services

Understanding where we are meeting athletes' needs and where we are falling short is key to building a culture where athletes feel safe, supported, heard and valued. Annually and post-Games, we partner with the Athletes' Advisory Council and an independent research firm to issue surveys to gather athlete feedback. This research also assists with the congressional requirements outlined in the Empowering Olympic, Paralympic and Amateur Athletes Act of 2020.

The Athlete Listening Survey aims to:

    • Listen to the athletes’ voices to better understand their experience, sentiment, service satisfaction, and overall needs
    • Provide athletes with a greater voice in the decision-making process for services they receive
    • Manifest change to either continue, discontinue, refine or improve various facets of the athlete experience
    • Provide baseline metrics for future surveys to capture longitudinal data of athlete interaction within the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic community
