Coming for A Camp

Lake Placid

Prior to Arrival 

  • Paperwork & Compliance

    For all guests of the LPOPTC we require the following items:

    • OPTC Paperwork - A link will be sent via email to all incoming guests from the LPOPTC Operations Coordinator to complete prior to any facility access.
    • SafeSport - All individuals 18 years and older must be up to date on SafeSport training. If you are participating in a camp that is through an NGB, please reach out to your contact there for more information.
    • Background Check - All individuals 18 year and older must complete an USOPC approved background check prior to arrival. Please note if you are participating through an NGB, it is the responsibility of the NGB to ensure all background checks have been completed prior to check-in.

    *Please note that background checks can take between 10 - 15 business days to complete for US Residents, international background checks take longer to process. Please reach out to the LPOPTC operations team should you need assistance with securing an approved background check.

  • General Information

    • Check-in is at 3:00 pm:
      • Upon arrival you will check in at the Front Desk to receive your access card.
      • All access cards must have photographs - you may be asked to return to the front desk to complete the photo portion after your groups check-in. Guests have 24 hours to complete this prior to their cards being deactivated.
      • Please be vigilant about having your ID Badges with you at all times.
    • Security: The LPOPTC has 24-hour security on-site, located in the main lobby.

    • Front Desk: Hours 7am - 9pm

    • (518) 523-2600 will be answered 24/7, if you are in need of assistance.

During Your Stay 

  • What is Provided

    The LPOPTC will provide you with:

    • Towels
    • Bed Linens & Pillows
    • All meals while you are on campus
      • For your check-in - Dinner is provided
      • For your check-out - Breakfast is provided
  • What you Should Bring

    Some helpful items you may want bring:

    • If you would like to bring your own pillow, please feel free to do so.
    • The weather in Lake Placid can be very unpredictable, pack accordingly.
  • Guest Expectations

    Guests are requested to abide by the following expectations:

    • Quiet hours are from 10pm - 7am
    • Shirts, shorts & shoes are required at all times
    • Please be mindful that we host resident athletes during the year, they consider this their home, please be respectful of their space.
    • Please clean up after yourself
  • Houskeeping

    • Bathroom refresh and trash removal for 4 nights or longer.
    • Do not hang anything on walls, ceilings, or sprinkler heads.
    • Keep windows closed when A/C is on.
    • Large trash receptacles are available in hallway for your use.
    • Please report any maintenance problems or damage to the front desk.
    • All damages or missing items will be charged to the room.
  • Laundry

    • Hours of Operation are 7am - 10pm
    • Located on the first and second floors in Node D.
    • Laundry detergent is available for $0.75 in the Laundry room - the front desk can exchange dollars for quarters.
    • Laundry Expectations
      • Do NOT remove someone else's clothing from the washers or dryers
      • Clothing must be removed from washer/dryer promptly after the cycle ends
      • Shoes are NOT permitted in the machines.
  • Meeting Rooms

    The following on-site rooms are available to reserve:

    • Adirondack
    • Algonquin
    • Ausable
    • Cascade
    • Haystack
    • Marcy
    • Mount Skylight
    • Skylight

Checking out 

  • Check-out Process

    • Check-out is 9:00am.
    • Scan your access card on the 'Checkout Scanner' located by the front desk.
    • Chaperones of minors must complete a room check prior to departure.
  • Room Expectations

    • Trash is in trash cans
    • Towels are placed on the top of the sink
    • Furniture is in its original spot
