During the 2025 USOPC General Assembly in Salt Lake City, Utah, Team USA Athletes’ Commission elected two new members to fill Leadership vacancies.

Dylan Sorensen (Triathlon) and Judge Ryan (Sailing) bring valuable experience and a strong commitment to amplifying the athlete voice. Their addition to the Leadership team will be instrumental in advancing Team USA AC’s mission and ensuring athletes across all sports are effectively represented.

Judge Ryan (Sailing)

Judge Ryan has demonstrated strong leadership in athlete governance and representation. He served on the Team USA Athletes’ Commission from 2020–2024 and contributed to advancing equity and inclusion in sport through his work on U.S. Sailing’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force.

As an athlete, Ryan skippered the 49er on the International Olympic Sailing circuit, was a five-year member of the U.S. Sailing Team, and placed second at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials, earning a role as a training partner and alternate for the Rio 2016 Games. He holds a B.A. in Business, Entrepreneurship, and Organizations from Brown University and an M.S. in Real Estate from the University of San Diego.

“I am honored and humbled to be elected by my fellow athletes to AC Leadership. I look forward to continuing to help amplify athlete voices through greater athlete representation. I’m excited to be a part of the AC as we prepare for Milano-Cortina and looking ahead to LA28.”

Dylan Sorensen (Triathlon)

Dylan Sorensen currently serves as Vice Chair of the USA Triathlon Board of Directors and is an active member of its Athletes’ Advisory Council, Finance & Audit Committee, Compensation Committee, and Nominating & Governance Committee. Through these roles, he has been a strong advocate for athlete representation and governance within the Olympic and Paralympic Movement.

As an athlete, Sorensen was a two-time NCAA All-American and Big East Champion at Georgetown University before competing for the USA Triathlon National Team from 2014–2017. As a coach at Stanford and the University of North Carolina, he helped lead teams to NCAA Championship success while mentoring athletes who later became Olympic medalists and record-holders. His combined experience as an athlete, coach, and governance leader underscores his long-standing commitment to elevating athlete voices and strengthening the Team USA community.

“Being elected to serve is an honor and privilege. I’m excited to partner with athlete representatives and leadership across the movement to amplify the athlete voice and continue building on the collective success for Team USA heading into Milan-Cortina, LA28, and beyond.”

They join current leadership members Joel Rosinbum, Chuck Aoki, Zahir Carrington, Liezel Huber, and Alison Tetrick.

The newly elected members of Team USA AC are proven advocates for athlete voices,” said Chair Joel Rosinbum. “With Dylan and Judge joining the Leadership team, athletes can be confident their perspectives will continue to guide decisions and shape the future of Team USA.”
