2025 Media Summit: Curling

QUALIFICATION

The United States currently has one team qualified for the Olympics — the Mixed Doubles team of Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin. The Wheelchair Mixed Doubles team will qualify for the Games directly through the U.S. Paralympic Team Trials in November. Following those Trials, five additional athletes will be named to the Paralympic Wheelchair Mixed Team. The U.S. Paralympic Team Trials will run concurrently with the U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Curling. The Men's and Women's teams that win those Trials will move on to represent the United States at the Olympic Qualifying Event (OQE) to earn a berth in the Olympic Games. Upon qualification, these teams will represent Team USA at the Games in Cortina.

PREVIEW

As the 2026 Olympic Winter Games approach, Team USA Curling is gearing up for another exciting run on the world’s biggest stage. With strong performances this season across all disciplines, and a mix of veteran experience and rising stars, the United States is poised to be a contender in Milano Cortina.

Mixed Doubles – Thiesse/Dropkin Ready for the Challenge

The United States is set to contend in the Mixed Doubles event, with Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin securing the nation’s berth at the 2025 World Mixed Doubles Championship. The duo has proven to be one of the most consistent and dynamic Mixed Doubles teams, and captured the first World Mixed Doubles gold for the USA in 2023. The pair will look to bring home Team USA’s first-ever Olympic medal in Mixed Doubles curling.

Men’s and Women’s Teams – Olympic Trials Up Next

The road to Milano-Cortina remains open for the men’s and women’s disciplines. Both U.S. Olympic Team Trials will take place this November and determine which two teams—one of each gender—will represent the United States at the Olympic Qualifying Event (OQE). The OQE will serve as the final step for nations still seeking to secure their Olympic berths.

Paralympic Curling – Trials and Team Selection

The U.S. Paralympic Team Mixed Doubles Trials will take place this November. The winning duo will qualify directly for the 2026 Paralympic Winter Games, in Cortina. Following those Trials, five additional athletes will be named to the Paralympic Mixed Team, rounding out American curling representation at the Paralympic Games.
