PREVIEW
Two-time Olympic gold medalist Chloe Kim sets her sights on a historic third straight halfpipe Olympic title — something no snowboarder has ever done. Two-time Olympian and U.S. teammate Maddie Mastro is a legitimate threat to Kim’s reign after a career best 2024-25 season that included three NBD marks. On the men’s side of competition, Italian American Alessandro Barbieri looks to make his mark on U.S. halfpipe snowboarding and he’s primed to do so, making history as the first American to land a triple in the halfpipe at an October 2025 Saas Fee training camp. He hopes to string the trick in his run to compete with the likes of his elder competitors and teammates, notably two-time Olympian Chase Josey and 2022 Olympian Lucas Foster, who is the only athlete to currently have the death defying double ally-oop mctwist in his run. With two-time Olympic medalist and snowboarding legend Danny Kass leading the team into MiCo, the halfpipe crew is determined to continue their Olympic legacy in the first Olympics of the post Shaun White era.
After a disappointing and slightly controversial fourth place finish in 2022, 2018 Olympic slopestyle gold medalist Red Gerard finds himself at his third Olympic games but this time, in a different role. Just 17 when he shocked the nation (and himself) to win slopestyle gold in 2018, Gerard leads a team of young talent including two-time World Championship bronze medalist Ollie Martin, who, like Gerard, is primed to make his Olympic debut a pose a threat to the podium at just 17-years-old. Snowboard icon and two-time Olympic gold medalist Jamie Anderson, makes her return to the sport after growing her family and has a renewed sense of joy and excitement in rediscovering her love for competing on the world’s biggest stage. She is joined by reigning slopestyle Olympic gold medalist Julia Marino who fights to make it back on the roster after sitting out the majority of the last two seasons with an injury. Olympian Hailey Langland, 17 year old Lily Dhawornvej and newcomer Hahna Norman all look to make the exclusive four woman roster.
Olympic gold medalist Nick Baumgartner looks to make his fifth Olympic roster and if successful, he will be 44 years old at the games. 2022 Olympian Jake Vedder eyes another shot at the games and is joined by newcomer Nathan Pare who is a serious threat to the podium. 2022 alpine snowboard Olympian Cody Winters looks to make tje roster in both the snowboard cross and alpine snowboard disciplines and if successful, will be the first American to do so. Bri Schnorrbusch leads the women’s side of qualifications and hopes to make her first Olympic team alongside 2022 Olympian Stacy Gaskill, who has been fighting through injuries to get back to racing after sitting last season out entirely. Olympians Faye Gulini Thelen and Meghan Tierney Daniel return from maturity leave with hopes to make another roster while Hanna Percy, the snowboard cross pro team rookie, poses a serious threat to the veteran’s spots.
