USA Artistic Swimming qualified a team for the Olympic Games first time since 2008 thanks to a stellar performance at the 2024 World Championships in Doha. The duet qualified through a silver-medal finish at the 2023 Pan American Games Santiago.
The team roster of eight athletes plus one traveling alternate was named early June after the final round of intersquad trials. Only eight athletes are permitted to swim across all three (free, technical and acrobatic) team categories at the Olympic Games. Two athletes from the team will also be selected to swim the two duet routines (free and technical).
Now, with a brand new scoring system and a track record of success capitalizing on the changes, the team will look to make a splash in Paris and bring home the first artistic swimming medal for Team USA in over 20 years.
USA Artistic Swimming athletes train about six to eight hours per day, six days per week and ten months of the year in Los Angeles, primarily in UCLA's campus pools.
