A maximum of 52 athletes (26 male and 26 female) will represent the U.S. in the pool at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Selection will come from results at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Swimming, which will be held June 15-23 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. The first qualification priority goes to the first-place finisher in each event, along with the top-4 finishers in the 100 and 200-meter freestyle to accommodate for relay events. If spots remain after the first priority, the second priority will be comprised of the second-best finisher in each of the individual events, other than the 100-meter and 200-meter freestyle. If spots remain, the next priorities would be the fifth-place finishers and sixth-place finishers, respectively, in the 100 and 200-meter freestyle events. To note, three swimmers (Mariah Denigan, Katie Grimes and Ivan Puskovitch) have already qualified in marathon swimming. Those three athletes will not count towards the maximum of 52 athletes that the pool roster will be comprised of.
