Crawford Family U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Archives
The Archives
The Crawford Family U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Archives are located within the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee Headquarters in downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado. The 5,000- square-foot facility is custom-designed for artifact preservation, featuring five independent zones of temperature and humidity control, specialized fire suppression systems, reinforced concrete floors, and dedicated storage solutions for each material type.
At the heart of the Archives is the Crawford Family Collection, which includes a complete
historical set of Olympic prize and participation medals, as well as Olympic torches. This
cornerstone collection is complemented by more than 15,000 three-dimensional artifacts,
100,000 historical photographs, and over 500,000 documents that tell the story of Team USA’s remarkable history.
The Archives serve as the official repository for materials documenting the history and activities of the USOPC and operate without an acquisition budget, relying on donations from collectors, athletes, and members of the Olympic and Paralympic communities to grow and preserve Team
USA’s legacy.
Our Mission
The mission of the Crawford Family U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Archives is to collect, preserve, and share the history of the USOPC, the legacy of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Movements, and the stories of Team USA athletes
