Brian Raney

Brian joined the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Foundation as Director of Major Gifts for the San Francisco Bay Area and Pacific Northwest in July 2023 after 15 years of development experience in collegiate athletics. Brian began his career at The College of William & Mary where he focused on annual fundraising, before returning to his alma mater Cal for the next 12 years. In his 12 years at Cal Athletics, Brian spent nine in major gift fundraising for the Golden Bears. As a below-the-knee amputee since the age of three, Brian is passionate about supporting athletes with physical challenges. While attending San Ramon Valley High School, Brian was a member of the varsity basketball team, and later went on to serve as a team manager for Cal Men’s Basketball. Brian holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from UC Berkeley, and a Master of Business Administration and Master of Sports Administration from Ohio University. He and his wife Megan reside in Pleasant Hill, California with their five-year-old daughter, Quinn.

Brian's favorite Olympic memories include watching the "Dream Team" games on TV and celebrating figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi’s gold medal finish with his family members in 1992.
