    USOPF Chair

  • The United States Olympic & Paralympic Foundation announced the election of Geoff Yang as chair of the USOPF Board of Directors in June 2023. Yang was formally endorsed by the USOPF Board after the recommendation of his nomination by the USOPF Nominating and Governance Committee and Executive Committees.

Yang has been a supporter of Team USA since before the foundation’s inception, serving as a director until 2022 and as vice chair from 2017 to 2022. In 2015, he played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Technology & Innovation Fund, a program that supports performance-impacting projects that help U.S. Olympians and Paralympians gain a competitive edge.

He currently serves as co-chair of the Technology & Innovation Fund Advisory Committee, which utilizes the brightest ideas in technology and engineering to the benefit of Team USA’s sports and athletes.

Yang is just the second permanent chair in foundation history. Gordy Crawford, the USOPF’s inaugural chair, served for nearly a decade from 2013 to 2022.

He is a founding partner and Managing Director of Redpoint Ventures, which manages nearly $6.5 billion and invests in industry-defining companies such as Netflix, Stripe, Twilio, Fortinet, Snowflake, ThredUp, Draft Kings, Sonos, Sentinel One and Hashicorp. Prior to founding Redpoint, Yang was a general partner at Institutional Venture Partners (IVP). With over 38 years of experience in venture capital, he has played a key role in launching and advising leading companies in the media, internet and infrastructure sectors.

Yang is also the CEO and founder of Performance Health Sciences (Apeiron Life), the Chairman and founder of Rock the Bells and the founder of Sake Ono. He serves on the boards of Franklin Templeton, Warner Bros. Discovery and several private companies, while also holding advisory roles with McLaren Racing, Princeton University, the Naval Postgraduate School Foundation and Workday.

He has served as an officer and Executive Committee member of both the U.S. Golf Association (USGA) and the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Foundation. He holds an MBA from Stanford and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Princeton.
