Media registration open for 2022 U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee today announced event details and the opening of media registration for the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Hall of Fame, Class of 2022 induction ceremony. The one-day event is scheduled for June 24 from 5:00-10:00 p.m. MT and will be held at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum in Colorado Springs.

The class of 2022 is made up of eight individuals, two teams, two legends, one coach and one special contributor. The inductees include Natalie Coughlin (swimming), Muffy Davis (Para alpine skiing and Para-cycling), Mia Hamm (soccer), David Kiley (Para alpine skiing, Para track and field, and wheelchair basketball), Michelle Kwan (figure skating), Michael Phelps (swimming), Lindsey Vonn (alpine skiing), Trischa Zorn-Hudson (Para swimming), the 1976 Women’s 4x100 Freestyle Relay Swimming Team, the 2002 Paralympic Sled Hockey Team, Gretchen Fraser (legend: alpine skiing), Roger Kingdom (legend: track and field), Pat Summitt (coach: basketball) and Billie Jean King (special contributor). 

The USOPC will offer red carpet photo and video access with inductees as well as designated media positions during the ceremony. In addition, media will have access to images and pre-clipped video moments from the red carpet and induction ceremony.


The schedule for June 24 includes:

4:30 p.m. MT: Media check-in opens

5:00-6:00 p.m. MT: Red carpet access

7:00-8:00 p.m. MT: USOPC provided dinner service and media workspace

8:00-9:30: Induction ceremony

Each media member interested in attending the event in person must register in advance of the event with their individual email address. The USOPC will confirm inductee participation and share additional access details on Monday, June 20.

 

As we collectively prioritize the health and safety of one another while El Paso County has moved into the moderate risk COVID-19 community level, all media will be asked to obtain a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours before arrival. This will be done on the honor system, and we will not be asking for proof of testing. If you test positive or are experiencing symptoms, please stay home. In addition, all participants will be required to be masked indoors when not eating or drinking.
