Global icon brings his trademark energy, humor and heart to support America’s Olympic and Paralympic athletes off the field of play
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) today announced that entertainment legend, entrepreneur and lifelong sports fan Snoop Dogg has joined Team USA as its first Honorary Coach—a volunteer role celebrating and supporting America’s athletes off the field of play.
In this new role, Coach Snoop joins the Team Behind the Team, the staff, coaches, medical experts, administrators and partners who help athletes chase their dreams and inspire the nation. Known for his passion for community, mentorship and elevating young people, Snoop will lend his signature humor and heart to help motivate Team USA athletes on their road to the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 and beyond.
“Team USA athletes are the real stars—I’m just here to cheer, uplift and maybe drop a little wisdom from the sidelines,” said Coach Snoop. “This team represents the best of what sport can be: talent, heart and hustle. If I can bring a little more love and motivation to that, that’s a win for me.”
Sarah Hirshland, Chief Executive Officer of the USOPC, added: “From the moment Snoop met Team USA athletes, there was an instant connection—mutual respect, genuine curiosity and a lot of laughter. His enthusiasm for the Olympic and Paralympic Movement is contagious, and we’re thrilled to officially welcome him as a member of the Team Behind the Team.”
For decades, Coach Snoop has used sport to open doors and create opportunity. His Snoop Youth Football League has supported more than 15,000 young athletes, including youth with disabilities, helping them grow and thrive. His commitment echoes what’s at the heart of every Team USA employee: we come together and inspire through our love of sport.
Coach Snoop is a natural fit for Team USA is his genuine commitment to supporting athletes beyond what fans see on the field of play. He’s long championed the idea that preparing for greatness isn’t just about performance—it’s about mindset, mentorship, and having the right support system. His new role will help shine a light on the resources athletes need as they step into the global spotlight, navigate pressure and uncertainty, and plan for life after elite sport. Whether it’s offering encouragement before a career-defining moment or supporting the transition into new chapters once competition ends, Snoop brings a deep respect for the full athlete journey.
Coach Snoop is immediately getting to work in a couple of key ways. First, he’s lending his voice to build awareness for the Team USA Fund, which provides direct resources to help athletes reach their full potential. One hundred percent of gifts to the Fund go directly to athletes and the programs that make their dreams possible—from mental health and education to training, competition, and career-transition support. As the fundraising arm of the USOPC, the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Foundation (USOPF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to advancing Team USA.
He’s also partnering with Fanatics on a Coach Snoop × Team USA collection—signature swag from the king of swagger. A portion of proceeds from Fanatics sales will support Team USA. The collection will be launching this December.
Coach Snoop’s role with Team USA is in addition to his previously announced work for NBCUniversal in Italy.
