U.S. Olympic & Paralympic names medical staff for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Milano-Cortina 2026

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee today announced the USOPC medical staff who will be entrusted with the care of more than 300 U.S. athletes across two delegations that will compete at the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. 


Alongside USOPC’s year-round sports medicine staff on the ground throughout the Games, a group of distinguished volunteer medical professionals will join to provide comprehensive support for Team USA.


“The Milano Cortina Games presents a unique Games footprint across the Italian Alps, requiring us to support Team USA athletes across more and varied locations,” said Dr. Jonathan Finnoff, USOPC chief medical officer. “Thanks to our exceptional sports medicine staff and group of volunteer providers, we are able offer world-class expertise and commitment to Team USA athletes where they train and compete.”


The USOPC’s medical provider program is comprised of physicians, athletic trainers, chiropractors, massage therapists, physical therapists, and psychological service practitioners, working collaboratively with USOPC sports medicine staff to offer a multidisciplinary model of care.


Medical teams will support athletes from hubs in Milan, Cortina, Livigno, and Predazzo, as well as mountain venue sites in Bormio and Anterselva.


“We have assembled an outstanding team of medical providers who understand the demands of winter sport and the needs of elite athletes,” said Amber Donaldson, USOPC vice president of sports medicine. “In addition, our extensive planning with the Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee and Italian medical partners, this team will help us ensure seamless care for the entire delegation from the moment they arrive.”
