Tori Franklin: Empowering the Next Generation to Live ‘Happii’
Olympian Tori Franklin has long believed that true strength comes from within. As a track and field athlete and co-founder of The Live Happii Project, she’s channeling that belief into empowering young people to embrace their full potential.
The Live Happii Project (TLHP) is a Chicago-based nonprofit that guides high school and college-aged BIPOC students on journeys of self-discovery and personal growth. Through holistic health and wellness retreats, both domestic and international, participants explore the connection between mind, body and spirit. They engage in practices like yoga and meditation, while learning emotional coping skills that build confidence and resilience.
Beyond the retreats, TLHP hosts community events across Chicago, including dance and wellness workshops, and partners with local schools to deliver a holistic curriculum that inspires students to thrive. The organization’s mission is to help young people find balance, purpose and joy in who they are and who they’re becoming.
Tori’s dedication to helping young people find balance, self-worth, and healing through holistic wellness is at the core of The Live Happii Project. This recognition amplifies the importance of mental health and personal growth in sports and honors the incredible community that continues to build around her leadership.
Tori’s involvement with The Live Happii Project and her dedication to improving the lives of those in her hometown has earned her recognition as one of this year’s Team USA Community Champions in partnership with Comcast.
Each year, Team USA Community Champions in partnership with Comcast honors athletes who advocate for nonprofit causes in health, wellness or youth sports. The initiative awards four $25,000 grants — half to the athlete’s nonprofit and half to the athlete — helping these changemakers expand their impact in the communities they serve.
