Athlete Commercial Agreements Resource Program
The goal of the athlete Commercial Agreements Resource program is to empower Team USA athletes to better understand their rights and value in the marketplace, specific terms of a commercial agreement, impacts of an agreement on their name, image, and likeness, as well as how the USOPC Athlete Marketing Platform (AMP), NGB-Athlete agreements, and/or commercial sponsorship agreements intersect with other commercial commitments or opportunities.
Eligible athletes can receive up to 2 hours of cost-free support from an agent or attorney. In order to be eligible for the program, athletes must:
- have been selected, in the previous 12 months, to represent the U.S. in international competition in an event or discipline on an upcoming Olympic, Paralympic, Pan American or Parapan American Games program;
- be on a national team in an event or discipline on an upcoming Olympic, Paralympic, Pan American or Parapan American Games program.
Athletes who are already represented by an agent will be expected to work directly with them.
The below list of individuals is provided as a courtesy.* These individuals have asserted that they have at least 2 years of relevant experience in advising athletes, artists or other talent in the commercial space; completed a conflict-of-interest disclosure form; and have committed to participating in the Athlete Commercial Agreements Resource Program by providing pro bono services to athletes who meet the eligibility criteria to participate in AMP and who do not already have an agent.
Neither the Office of the Athlete Ombuds nor the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee have conducted any investigation of the qualifications, credentials, ethical conduct, quality, or abilities of the individuals appearing on this list. Further, an individual’s inclusion on this list does not in any manner, directly or indirectly, constitute a guarantee, warranty or verification of their qualifications, credentials, ethical conduct, quality, abilities, or conduct toward you.
Athletes should always take care to select an individual who is competent to handle the issue at hand, as well as communicative, trustworthy, available and free from conflicts of interest.
