The philosophy for beginners is mostly educational and recreational. For experienced fencers, the emphasis depends upon the fencer's desires. They may be recreational or competitive. How a person approaches the sport depends upon personal factors. CFC is here for ALL fencers.

Lakes Region Disabled Sports (LRDS) is a special part of the Gunstock Mountain and the surrounding Lakes Region of New Hampshire. People with physical, emotional, and cognitive challenges team up with trained volunteer instructors and learn to fly! In the words of Lauren Brennan, a 12-year old blind skier, "It's kind of scary at first, but if you like freedom, you'll love skiing. It feels like you are flying like a bird."

New England Disabled Sports (NEDS) at Bretton Woods is an independent, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization providing adaptive sport instruction to adults and children with physical and cognitive disabilities. Conveniently located on the base level of the Bretton Woods Base Lodge, NEDS at Bretton Woods makes it possible for everyone to experience the thrills and delights of the outdoors.

New England Healing Sports Association

NEHSA bears witness to the triumph of the human spirit by helping people with disabilities and their families enrich their lives through adaptive sports, recreation and social activities. Founded in 1972 by disabled Vietnam Veterans for disabled Veterans, NEHSA has evolved into one of the largest programs in the Northeast. NEHSA has been changing lives ever since, providing year round activities to people of all ages and disabilities. With more than 300 dedicated and highly trained volunteers, NEHSA provides one on one instruction in skiing, snowboarding, Nordic skiing, kayaking and paddle boarding. Family members are encouraged to participate in all NEHSA activities.

Northeast Passage, founded in 1990, is a nationally recognized leader in the provision of innovative therapeutic recreation services. Northeast Passage delivers disability-related health promotion and adapted sports programs throughout New England. Northeast Passage is a program of the University of New Hampshire’s College of Health and Human Services.

Team River Runner Newbury NH

The New England Healing Sports Association (NEHSA) is the local sponsor of Team River Runner in Newbury, New Hampshire. NEHSA extends TRR’s mission to serve the injured and affected military population to include kayaking for all abilities in pools, on flat water and in rivers and streams throughout New Hampshire and Vermont. NEHSA supports TRR’s desire for “Health and Healing through Paddlesports” by bearing witness to the triumph of the human spirit by helping people with disabilities and their families enrich their lives through adaptive sports, recreation, and social activities.

Waterville Valley Adaptive Sports

Waterville Valley Resorts’ Adaptive Snowsports program is a special part of Waterville Valley where physically and mentally challenged children and adults team up with extraordinary volunteers and learn to fly - at least that's how our students describe the freedom of sliding down a snowy slope unencumbered by a wheelchair or braces. Also available through the Nordic Center are Adaptive lessons for those athletes interested in Nordic skiing. First timers and more experienced cross country skiers are all welcome!
