Adaptive Ski Program The Adaptive Ski Program (ASP) provides ski / snowboard lesson to individuals living with cognitive and/or physical disabilites. The ASP has been provideing lessons for twenty-seven years. Our programs are offered at Sandia Peak outside of Albuquerque NM, Ski Santa Fe, and Pajarito mountain in Los Alamos. We offer daily lessons (advanced reservations required) and a multi week program for local residents. | |
Albuquerque Kings Wheelchair Basketball The mission of the Albuquerque Kings is to promote wheelchair basketball in a fun and competitive environment. The Kings are a professional team that are part of NWBA (National Wheelchair Basketball Association). The Cody Unser First Step Foundation The Cody Unser First Step Foundation is a global not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising research funds, public awareness and quality of life for those afflicted with all forms of spinal cord-related paralysis. The Foundation will also address the cause, rehabilitation, prevention and cure for Transverse Myelitis, and freely affiliate with other medical, charitable and corporate entities to achieve these goals. Our ADAPTIVE SCUBA Program provides participants with a multi-level approach and an opportunity to learn to SCUBA with a buddy of their choice. | |
University of New Mexico DisAbility Sports Festival The UNM DisAbility Sports Festival is for adults and children with disabilities to laern adapted instruction in sport and recreation activities. The festival also provides information regarding local and statewide adapted sport and recreation programs as well as service-learning opportunities for UNM students pursuing degress in adapted physical education, physical education, athletic training, physical thearpy and special education.the event is held every year during Disability Awarenes Month in October. | |
