I chose the University of Alabama because it was the best place for me to continue both my basketball and academic careers. I love the program's dedication not only to us as athletes, but also to who we are as people. They are truly committed to making adaptive sports the best that they can possibly be. I am thankful for the resources that we have and for the university's support.

Choosing the Right Program for You#

To start, identify the schools you are interested in attending. Research these institutions and their Para sport programs to see if they align with your academic and athletic goals. Once you have identified potential schools, reach out to the program administrators to indicate your interest and learn more about the programs.

  • Are Athletics Scholarships available for Collegiate Para Sport?

Each Para sport program operates differently. Some programs offer athletics scholarships while others do not. Ask program administrators what options are available for scholarships and/or financial aid at their institutions.

  • Can I play Multiple Sports in College?

In some cases, Para sport student-athletes compete in multiple sports during their college careers. If you’re interested in competing in multiple sports, ask the program administrator if this is possible. For example, the collegege wheelchair basketball season runs through early spring, which is when Para track and field and wheelchair tennis compete.
