Talent Advancement
We are committed to attracting the best talent to serve the Movement. This includes delivering a world-class employment ecosystem and providing career opportunities, education and unique experiences across the USOPC, National Governing Bodies (NGBs) and our broader community of partners.
Learning and Development#
The USOPC strives to equip staff, athletes and NGBs with valuable career development and educational opportunities, including through the USOPC’s virtual Impact Academy. With Tuck Executive Education at Dartmouth, we launched a series of programs in 2023. Each program offers participants the opportunity to build their professional network within the Movement and learn applicable skills for work and life. As the first learning and development opportunity for both employees and athletes, these programs are designed to help everyone learn together as a community.
We engage in career growth opportunities for healthcare providers at all levels, including continued educational programming for NGB medical personnel and expanding programming for Team USA athletes interested in a career in medicine after retirement. The USOPC’s Fellowship offerings expanded with the second year of our Physical Therapists’ Fellowship and the securing of funds to develop the Athletic Training Fellowship and Psychological Services Fellowship set to start in 2024. These year-long programs not only give skilled providers the unique experience of working across the wide array of Team USA sports with the most elite Olympic and Paralympic athletes in the world, but also bring highly qualified providers into the USOPC and NGB networks.
“Each session [of the Management Essentials Impact Academy programming] was filled with great discussion and left me with a renewed perspective on how to tackle day-to-day tasks while also working to develop myself as a leader.”

Employee Engagement#
We are focused on the holistic well-being of both Team USA athletes and our team members to achieve sustained excellence. We know that anything is possible with our dedicated team contributing their talents and passions to support athletes, NGBs, the Movement and the power of sport. We are committed to supporting the vibrancy of our organization and the Movement through the development of our talented, diverse team members through a variety of opportunities, education and experiences.
Throughout 2023, we further developed our organizational leadership and listening to increase engagement of our employees. Among the highlights, our November 2023 Employee Engagement Survey had an eight-percentage point increase in its engagement rate compared to November 2022, and we reached the highest level of internal staffing since pre-pandemic while maintaining the lowest turnover rate in three years. The USOPC restructured our staffing model to improve the overall Games experience for employees supporting on-site and back home during milestone events. We continued to provide mental health resources, including the hiring of a dedicated manager of mental health and wellness programs, to support our team members in being their best, both at work and at home. The USOPC also defined our Employee Value Proposition that exudes our core values, showcases our commitment to all athletes and employees and solidifies our stance as a unique organization.
Together through our love of sport, we are building a better, more inclusive world
