On November 2, U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Foundation supporters and guests gathered for a celebration of Team USA in San Antonio, Texas, hosted by Cassandra Carr and Jenifer Brown. It was an inspirational evening filled with stories of perseverance and dedication, as some of Team USA's finest ambassadors spoke about the mission of the USOPF.
Guests had the opportunity to spend time with U.S. Olympic and Paralympic champions David Robinson (basketball, 1988, '92, '96), Rico Roman (Paralympic sled hockey, 2014), Ruth Riley (basketball, 2004) and Lauryn Williams (track & field, 2004, '08, '12; bobsled, 2014). Attendees also heard from Alan Ashley, Chief of Sport Performance for the U.S. Olympic Committee, and R.C. Buford, General Manager of the San Antonio Spurs.
The evening included a reflection and celebration of Team USA's success at the Rio 2016 Games, a look ahead to PyeongChang 2018 and Tokyo 2020, and opportunities to learn about the need for philanthropic support to aid U.S. Olympians, Paralympians and hopefuls in achieving their dreams. Many thanks to Cassandra and Jenifer for making such a fantastic evening possible!
