Thank you for your interest in volunteering!
At the USOPC, our volunteers serve as an important ambassador of the Olympic and Paralympic Movements. They value the responsibility of connecting Americans to a movement larger than us all - one that connects and unites the world through sports.

Volunteer at the Games - Frequently Asked Questions#
There is one Team USA volunteer opportunity available for Milano Cortina 2026 - the Team USA Welcome Experience (TUWE).
Team USA Welcome Experience (TUWE) is the first stop for member of Team USA as they arrive for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. As the athletes go through TUWE, they stop at several stations, including Nike, Ralph Lauren, Oakley, Skims, and New Era where they receive their official team gear. In addition, they get sized for their Olympic or Paralympic ring, create social media content, and experience other exciting and engaging stations presented by our Partners and Licensees. TUWE is a fun and fast-paced environment that sets the tone for the entire Games experience for Team USA athletes.
The volunteer application is due on July 3, 2025.
Volunteers are encouraged and expected to work a minimum of three (3) shifts total over the course of Games operations with a minimum of five (5) hours per shift (e.g., 08:00 to 13:00, or 13:00 to 18:00). Days do not need to be consecutive.
Deviation from this schedule will be considered on an individual basis. Schedule is tentative and subject to change. Shift hours may vary based on volunteer post and athlete schedules, and may be extended to suit business needs without notice. Volunteers may be assigned other duties during shifts, as needed.
Fluency in English is required.
Fluency in Italian is a plus, though not required. If you are fluent in Italian, or other languages, please include this information in your application.
All volunteers must be 18 years or older to participate.
The Team USA volunteer program is unpaid. Selected volunteers will receive meals during their shifts, as well as a uniform apparel package to be worn during shifts.
Volunteers are responsible for coordinating and funding their own travel to Italy, transportation to the work site, accommodations in Italy, and meals outside of their scheduled shifts during their volunteer post.
Selected volunteers will receive meals during their shifts, as well as a uniform apparel package to be worn during shifts.
The USOPC requires all volunteers to have a valid passport to travel to Italy. This must be a 10-year passport (rather than an emergency or limited-validity passport), must have at least one blank page for stamps, and must not have an expiration date within six months of your departure date from Italy. For example, a volunteer whose departure date from Italy is March 1, 2026 must have a passport valid through at least September 1, 2026.
Need to apply for or renew a passport? Visit Travel.State.Gov or PVS International for more information.
Most volunteers will not have any visa requirements in order to travel to Italy, as long as you are not planning on staying in Italy or the Schengen area for longer than 90 days. According to the European Union (EU), the Schengen area is an area in Europe without internal borders, in which you can travel from country to country without subjecting to border checks. The Schengen area includes most countries in the EU, so if you plan to travel around Europe before or after your volunteer engagement, it’s a good idea to consider which countries you’re travelling to and for how long to ensure you’re compliant with any visa requirements.
If you are unsure whether you need to apply for a visa for your volunteer engagement, please use the Italian government’s visa wizard. This is an interactive tool in which you can input the details of your situation and stay to determine if you need a visa to travel to Italy. Please note, this is only a reference tool, so you should always confirm this visa information with your travel agent, travel insurance company, and/or whomever is helping you plan your trip to ensure you have what you need to enter the country.
Upon selection as a volunteer, you will receive an invitation to complete your Games registration. All members of the United States delegation, including athletes, coaches, staff, medical personnel, and volunteers, must complete Games registration, regardless of their venue or accreditation type.
Games registration will include the following:
- Personal details, including contact and emergency contact information
- Apparel sizing
- Headshot
- Delegation terms, including code of conduct, grievance procedures, and a general release
- Background check
- U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) training
- U.S. Center for SafeSport training
All Games registration requirements must be completed by the prescribed deadlines in the invitation.
