Navigating Italy
The Milano Cortina 2026 Games will be the most widespread Olympic and Paralympic Games ever. Depending on the cluster you’re traveling to in order to support Team USA, your air and ground transportation decisions should be decided simultaneously to create the most efficient and practical experience for you and your party. Please consider the information provided below as a guide to help you begin organizing the logistics of your travel.
*Note – As we get closer to Games Time, we expect there to be more official resources like Travel Apps, Official Games Transportation Guides, and information on Lodging - Competition best practices when in country, so please revisit the page frequently, especially as the Games draw closer.
Entering Italy FAQs#
For the latest information via the US Department of State, please visit https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel/International-Travel-Country-Information-Pages/Italy.html frequently, especially as your travels approach.
A passport is required for travel to Italy. For these Games, passports must be valid through August 22, 2026. Always ensure that you keep your passport in a secure place. Do not put your passport in a clothing pocket or airplane seat back pocket. When travelling, we suggest that you identify one place inside your carry-on baggage to store and secure your passport.
Although there are currently no notices in effect for travel to Italy, please visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website before planning your travel to Paris: https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/traveler/none/Italy

Accommodations#
Accommodation in many clusters during both The Olympic and Paralympic Games may prove to be a challenge as the cities and villages are flooded with spectators. We have a few suggestions below for those looking for accommodation resources during their stay:
Hotels
Do a search on sites like Kayak, Booking.com, Hotels.com, etc. for pricing and availability. Be prepared for hefty prices amongst all of the clusters. You can also look at properties directly (i.e. looking at an IHG, Marriott or Hilton site directly) and see what inventory they have.
We would anticipate that over the next month or two there will be some more hotel inventory that comes online based on group bookings adjustments/drops that will become available with various hotels in Milan Cortina.
Airbnb
You can look at options through Airbnb. It would be good to do some research ahead of time and know which neighborhood(s) you would like to be in, and which ones are closest to the venues/activities that you are most interested in.
Consider familiarizing yourself with the Ground Transportation options in the cluster you’ll be spending your time in, as there may be more options outside of the competition sites, with the option to utilize different transportation options to reach your destination.

The following link has been provided from the Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee and will provide additional information on spectator accommodation as well as the location of competition venues. These options are more hospitality forward. If more options present themselves, please count on us to share them here https://hospitality.milanocortina2026.org/en
