Postcard from Rio

by USOPC

With less than two years remaining until the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, many venues and attractions in Rio de Janerio, Brazil, are beginning to take shape. In early November, the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Foundation's Games hospitality manager, James Bjorklund, traveled to Rio for a site visit. While on the ground, James explored Rio's incredible beaches and surrounding scenery, visited key venues to be used during the Games, and tasted some Brazilian cuisine. He even had the chance to tour the inside of the Maracana Stadium while attending the Brazil Cup semifinal soccer match between rival teams Flamengo and Atletico, witnessing firsthand the country's passion for sport. Here are a few of his best shots from the trip.
