Four-time Olympic gold medalist Janet Evans and Paralympic sled hockey champion Rico Roman took part in a reception celebrating Team USA in Scottsdale, Arizona. The event was hosted by Rusty and Alyson Kennedy, Ray and Patty Deeny and George and Dyan Getz, in partnership with the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Foundation, the fundraising branch of the United States Olympic Committee.
The mission of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Foundation (USOPF) is to transform the level of philanthropic support afforded to U.S. Olympians, Paralympians and hopefuls.
Evans and Roman, a U.S. Army veteran and wounded warrior, each spoke about their experiences as members of Team USA and the impact of sport on their personal and professional lives. Guests had the opportunity to try on the athletes' Olympic and Paralympic medals, hear firsthand stories from the Games and learn more about the activities of the USOPF.
