From Sept. 22-23, the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Foundation Trustees and Board of Directors gathered in Colorado Springs with a mission to both celebrate the Rio 2016 Games and develop strategies to ensure long-term philanthropic support for Team USA.
While in Olympic City USA, foundation leaders took on interactive sport demonstrations at the U.S. Olympic Training Center. Led by the local USA Shooting Club Team and U.S. Paralympians McKenna Dahl and Mike Tagliapietra, guests tried their hand at rifle and pistol shooting at the indoor shooting center. Next, they battled for gold in the Paralympic sport of sitting volleyball. Other activities throughout the two-day event included a lunch with OTC resident athletes, a mindfulness activity led by USOC Sport Psychologist Peter Haberl and a leadership town hall featuring USOC CEO Scott Blackmun, Chairman Larry Probst, Chief of Sport Performance Rick Adams and LA 2024 CEO Gene Sykes.
The USOPF Board of Directors and USOPF Trustees are valuable partners who help shape and grow the important work of the U.S. Olympic Committee by providing both strategic advice and transformative financial support.
