Message From Leadership

Year In Review

2022 was a year of great progress for the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee.

After several logistically and emotionally demanding years, we channeled our optimism and momentum to focus on what we all love: sport, the athletes behind it and the communities it has the power to impact. After starting the year focused on preparing and prevailing through complex Winter Olympic & Paralympic Games in Beijing, we were able to come together in ways we have not been able to since pre-pandemic to celebrate all that we have accomplished – and to evaluate where we are going.

We are happy to report that having completed Games in Tokyo and Beijing unlike any we had experienced previously, we continued to enhance the way and means in which we support Team USA athletes, advance the sports they represent and impact society.

Throughout the year, we used our voice to emphasize the values of the Olympic and Paralympic movements, making it clear what we stand for when it comes to fairness in sport. We also took a moment to honor the legacy of our athletes through the Hall of Fame Induction and celebrated both our winter and summer Olympians and Paralympians, staff and partners at a reimagined Team USA Week in Washington D.C.

As the largest National Olympic and Paralympic Committee, we understand our responsibility to build and maintain international bridges while sharing our capabilities with, and learning from, other nations. We strengthened our relationship with the World Anti-Doping Agency, listened to how geopolitical issues are impacting colleagues in other countries and collaborated with global counterparts to work to solve the issues of the day, while always working collectively to advance the movements.

Situated at the heart of sport, we continue to lead with our purpose in all we do: to build a better, more inclusive world through sport. Sport is about exceeding potentials and celebrating achievements, it’s about health and wellness, it’s about the uniqueness and diversity of every human being and it’s about communities coming together to cheer on Team USA athletes as they work tirelessly to make our country proud.

Looking ahead, we are filled with a sense of excitement and optimism for all that the future holds. We are confident that, together, we will continue to achieve greatness and make a positive impact on the world.

Thank you for your unwavering support and dedication to Team USA. We are honored to have you by our side.

Onward, Together
