Leadership Message
  • What Drives Our Impact

The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee exists to empower Team USA athletes to achieve their dreams on and off the field of play while advancing the global Olympic and Paralympic movements. In 2024, that purpose gained even greater momentum leading into a transformative decade of sport for the United States.

This defining era marks an unprecedented opportunity for the United States to host multiple global events, including the Olympic and Paralympic Games Los Angeles 2028 and Salt Lake City-Utah 2034. Sparked by breakthrough performances in Paris, the USOPC reignited the spirit of the Movement and reaffirmed its commitment to empowering the competitive excellence and well-being of Team USA athletes, championing the power of sport and inspiring the nation.

Through sustained investment and strategic alignment, the USOPC advanced its mission across three impact areas: athlete excellence, sport advancement and community growth. From the training center to the global stage, it drove systems-level change and expanded opportunity at every level of sport.

The stories and milestones of 2024 reflect a year defined by progress – in the stands and on the podium, across programs and partnerships and in every corner of the Movement. Together, they demonstrate how the USOPC has shaped the future of sport since its inception in 1921 and how it will continue the momentum into the next decade and for generations to come.
