Ezra Frech: Building a More Inclusive Sports Community
Two-time Paralympic gold medalist Ezra Frech has spent his career proving that sport can be a powerful force for inclusion. Inspired by his first Para competition in 2013, Ezra and his father co-founded Angel City Sports, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit dedicated to creating year-round opportunities for kids, adults and veterans with physical disabilities or visual impairments.
Through events like the Angel City Games and adaptive sports clinics, the organization provides free equipment, coaching and competitive experiences, which includes 250 adaptive sports clinics a year that offer 4,000 athlete experiences annually. Its mission is simple: to make sports accessible to everyone, no matter their ability, and to build a community that celebrates possibility over limitation.
Ezra’s vision for Angel City Sports has always been about creating opportunities where there once were barriers. His recognition as a Team USA Community Champion shines a light on adaptive athletes nationwide, and on the power of inclusion to transform communities through sport.
Ezra’s leadership and commitment to empowering others have earned him recognition as one of this year’s Team USA Community Champions in partnership with Comcast.
Each year, Team USA Community Champions in partnership with Comcast honors athletes who advocate for nonprofit causes in health, wellness, or youth sports. The initiative awards four $25,000 grants — half to the athlete’s nonprofit and half to the athlete — helping these changemakers expand their impact in the communities they serve.
